Hanne Bertelsen Keramik
This case study was originally completed as part of the Multimedia Design program at KEA, Copenhagen School of Design and Technology. The project involved creating an optimized design for the website of Hanne Bertelsen, an esteemed Danish designer who specializes in creating unique ceramics for everyday use. Although this project had already been completed in 2019, I revisited the case study to apply the knowledge I have gained since then and explore new possibilities for further optimizing the design.
Process
This project presented several fascinating challenges, particularly the need to achieve the following objectives through the website:
- Highlight Hanne Bertelsen’s profile and accomplishments as a prominent Danish designer.
- Promote her unique ceramics to potential customers.
- Differentiate her work from other Danish ceramicists in the market.
We also had to consider Hanne Bertelsen’s primary demographic – ages 25-55 – and tailor the website’s tone and style to resonate with this audience. To create a balance that fulfilled these goals while drawing attention to her artistry, we adopted a minimalistic design approach that emphasized her work without distraction.
Hi-fi prototypes were developed in Adobe XD to explore these design concepts in greater depth. However, while they remain a part of the project’s conceptual work, this case study was not implemented by the client.
